Hot rolled to Australian Standards AS3679.1 from grade 300 plus steel in a mill finish ranging in sizes from 75mm in depth to 380mm, rolled to a maximum length of 18.0 meters. PFC beams are readily available for use across all sectors of industry including mining, residential and commercial construction.
The PFC steel beam has proven to be particularly popular in residential construction as the PFC beam profile easily integrates into the common width of timber stud wall frames. The PFC beam is a versatile section of steel for use as horizontal steel support across large spans or used vertically as a wind bracing portal frame, also frequently located over large windows or door openings used in conjunction with an angle lintel to simultaneously support upper-level brickwork and wall framing.
Other more architectural uses for the PFC beam include steel stair stringers, cantilevered entry awnings & steel entry arbours, all fully exposed to create a visual industrial feature.
PFC beams are available cut to size, buffed & primed or hot dip galvanised, complete with pre-drilled nailing plate holes and shop welded connection plates to suit your specific requirements.
PFC Beams and Steel U-Beams (Universal Beams) are available cut to your precise length with optional nailing plate and fixing holes predrilled along with an assortment of attachments such as end plates, stiffener plates, & connection cleats. U-Beams & PFC channels are electric wire buffed and blue oxide zinc chromate primed or alternatively can be fully hot dip galvanised.
